Zim Govt Will Never Tolerate Corruption, Mnangagwa Assures Parliament

Harare, February 12, 2014 – Government says corruption will never be tolerated at any level and will not just rush to prosecute before first verifying any cases against individuals as the rule of law requires. 

This was said in a question and answer segment in parliament on Wednesday.

The apex of the question and answer segment were the questions posed by the MDC’s Nelson Chamisa and Settlement Chikwinya on statements alleged to have been uttered by Vice President Joice Mujuru on corruption.

The leader of government business in the house, Emmerson Mnangagwa  responded by telling the members of parliament that government has procedure that it will follow in tackling corruption while Vice President Mujuru disassociated herself from the alleged statements. 

Cde Mnangagwa also said that across the entire nation there is consensus that corruption is unacceptable.

Revelations of corruption charges in the public sector have drawn widespread condemnation as the nation intensifies the fight against this social and economic vice.
