Two Zimbabwean housemates ZBC’s Power FM DJ, Tariro Mharapara, known as Butterphly, and Jerome, known simply as JJ received a resounding welcome at the official launch of the on-going Big Brother Africa Hotshots Sunday evening in South Africa.
The Big Brother Hotshots launch came alive tonight with a number of musicians from Africa performing.
The two Zimbabwean housemates received standing ovations when they were introduced to the audience.
24-year-old DJ Butterphly, who presents the lunchtime radio show on Power FM and 23-year-old musician [JJ] were this evening announced as the country’s housemates.
Among the housemates include Kenyan actor-cum-radio drama director, Alusa and Ellah from Uganda, among others.
Zimbabweans are now looking forward to see how the two housemates will fair.
Campaigns have already been launched on the social media platforms in an effort to garner support for the two housemates.
Audiences were treated to music by two Nigerian artists, Davido and Emmy Gee featuring AB Crazy and DJ Dimplez.
Entertainment was also provided by Tanzanian artist, Diamond and South African hip-hop star, Casper Nyovest, whose hit ‘Doc Shebeleza’ is burning up the airwaves in South Africa.
The launch saw viewers and fans across the continent welcoming 26 new housemates for season 9 of Big Brother Africa hotshots.
