Zimbabwe's Gunners Out Of The Champions League

Gunners shocked the world when they beat the Red Devils 1-0 at Rufaro Stadium a fortnight ago.

The Red Devils advance 2-1 on aggregate thanks to goals by Ahmed Shokri and Mohamed Samir in the second round, second leg clash in Cairo.

According to Ahly website the Egyptians could have won the game by a wider margin but Mohamed Abou-Treika penalty’s on 14 minutes was saved goalkeeper Tafadzwa Dube.

The home side made amends seven minutes later when Shokri rose highest to head home his first Champions League goal from Mohamed Barakat’s free-kick.

Samir made no mistake from the spot in the 45th minute when Emad Motaeb was brought down in the box by Dube.

All eyes are now on Dynamos who play DRC’s Lupopo on Sunday at the National Sports Stadium. Dembare carries a one goal advantage and are widely expected to reach the third round where they will play Botswana United.
