Zuma Starts Talks With Zimbabwe Leaders Wednesday

Zuma was welcomed at the Harare International Airport by President Robert Mugabe, Vice President John Nkomo, Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and his two deputy prime ministers. He did not speak to the press.

The majority of the ministers within the inclusive government also turned to welcome the South African leader.

Prior to Zuma’s arrival around 6PM in a South African Air Force plane,  RadioVOP managed to speak to the Zanu PF chief negotiator Patrick Chinamasa who confirmed that all the three teams on the negotiation table had managed to brief the South African facilitation team on Monday.

“We met with the facilitation team on Monday and we managed to brief them on all the outstanding issues and where there have been agreements. This was a preparatory meeting with the facilitation teams,” said Chinamasa.

He said all the three principals Mugabe, Tsvangirai and Mutambara will meet with Zuma on Wednesday before the he meets with the negotiators.

Elton Mangoma also confirmed meeting with the facilitation team.
